The heat between them is unprofessional and yet undeniable. But has he gone rogue? Can Beth trust him to put her mission before his own revenge? And can she trust herself with him?
Review
Blurring the Line is a steamy cop novel in which we see DEA agent Beth Thomson join forces with shady undercover agent Armando Torres to bring down the deadly Los Zetas cartel.
I have to admit that it’s not the sort of book that I would usually pick off the shelf, however I had heard good things about Kierney’s writing and I was more than willing to give the book a go. I am happy to report that I really rather enjoyed it.
The plot is tense, thrilling, suspenseful and pacy – a good storyline in itself. Interwoven into the story is the sizzling relationship between the main characters, Beth and Torres.
I liked Beth as a character, she’s strong-willed, firy, honest and likable. Torres is the typical bad boy, complicated, dangerous and very sexy, staying just far enough to the right side of the line to be acceptable. The chemistry between the two is unmistakable and culminates in some very raunchy scenes!
The story ends in a cliff hanger which will leave you wanting to read more. Fortunately, it is the first in a trilogy, so you can follow up on Beth and Torres’ adventures in the second book in The Firing Line series, Holding The Line.
So, my conclusions – Blurring the Line is gritty, suspenseful, steamy and very entertaining – there’s defintely a big dollop of humour thrown in! Kierney Scott certainly is talented and I’m looking forward to reading more from her.

Originally from California, Kierney Scott moved to Scotland to enrol in the PhD programme in Educational Research at the University of Edinburgh.
Four days after she arrived, she met her husband, who persuaded her it would be more fun to get married than write a thesis. After the birth of her daughter she decided it was time to go back to school, but soon discovered all she wanted to write was romance novels. She admitted her literary proclivities to her husband, who promptly bought her a laptop and told her to start writing her book.
