Title: Lost (Arielle Lockley Series Book 2)
Author: Elle Field
I am thrilled to be today’s stop on the blog tour for Elle Field’s newest book, Lost, the second book in the Arielle Lockley series.
I only just finished reading Lost last night, which is cutting it a bit fine, however I am pleased to say that I loved the book, possibly even more than Kept (you can read my review here)!
After the drama of Kept, we return to visit Arielle Lockley a few months on. She has managed to turn things around and everything seems to be going well for her. She is opening a new clothes shop in London with her partner Felicity and she is planning her wedding to her beloved fiance, Piers. Unfortunately, this sense of well-being does not last long and Arielle’s life is, once more, turned upside down whilst dealing with fires, socialites, gas explosions, health problems, issues with friends etc…. Arielle begins to feel that life is getting away from her again.
At the begining of Kept, I was sure that I would not like the main protaganist, Arielle Lockley, as she seemed to be everything I deteste – rude, spoiled and ignorant…. However, she slowly but surely changed and flourished throughout that first book. I was therefore very happy to meet Arielle again in Lost and hear how everything had developed since we last saw her. She has really developed into a great character, full of enthusiasm, vision and kindness, if not slightly over-dramatic! She really jumps into everything feet first and thinks about the consequences later.
The supporting characters are also great to read. Piers – the sensible fiance, Felicity – the ditzy business partner, Tabitha – the friend and socialiate and, finally, Etta – the singer and rival for Felicity’s affections.
Lost does not concentrate solely on one storyline, but includes a number of events involving the different characters making it an extremely enjoyable and interesting book to read. It ends on a fantastic cliffhanger which leaves you infuriated that the book is over and desperate to read book 3 (which I understand is due to be released later in 2015 – how exciting!!).
This is a fun and fast-paced chick lit novel, a fantastic read and I would thoroughly recommend it to any lovers of the chick lit genre. Lost is a standalone story, however I would recommned reading Kept – book 1 in the series – first, simply because it is great to follow Arielle’s story through and to have some background knowledge of events preceding Lost.
This book captured my attention from start to finish and I honestly cannot wait to read more of Arielle Lockley’s mishaps and adventures. Well done to the author, Elle Field, on the publication of another fantastic book!
